What to Expect at the Plant Sale

Join the City of Raleigh, in partnership with We Plant it Forward, for this FREE community event to explore earth-conscious vendors and organizations while enjoying live music, games, and activities for all ages. We will be showing a family-friendly movie to conclude the event.

This year’s plant sale is expected to be the most exciting one yet! You'll find a stunning collection of over 100 heirloom varieties loved by gardeners for their unique flavors and characteristics. From bright marigolds to organic tomatoes, aromatic basil, and rare cucumbers, there's something for everyone. Whether you're a veteran gardener or just starting out, you can find the perfect plants to enrich your garden.

Choosing heirloom plants does more than enhance your garden; it supports biodiversity. By buying these plants, you are playing a crucial role in preserving heritage varieties. For instance, heirloom tomatoes like the Cherokee Purple and Brandywine boast not only incredible taste but also histories that span generations, often tracing back to early American settlers.
